What is a floor drain?

The floor drain is an important component that connects the sewer drain pipe and the indoor floor. As an important part of the drainage system, the performance of the floor drain directly affects the indoor environmental quality and air quality. It is an important part of the odor prevention in bathrooms, kitchens and other spaces. So to choose a suitable floor drain, we need to start from various aspects such as anti-odor method, material, brand and so on. There are many types of floor drains on the market, with prices ranging from a few yuan to several hundred yuan. Of course, some imported floor drains are sold for thousands of yuan each.

Main functions of floor drain:

Anti-odor, anti-clogging, anti-insect, anti-virus, anti-water return, anti-drying (mainly refers to water-sealed floor drains)

The quality of floor drains is mainly evaluated from four aspects: drainage speed (the national standard for floor drain drainage is 1L/second), anti-odor effect, easy cleaning, and durability without mechanical principles.

Floor drain material:

Mainly include cast iron, PVC, zinc alloy, ceramics, cast aluminum, stainless steel, brass, copper alloy and other materials.

1. Engineering plastics: widely used in engineering, cheap and cheap.

2. Cast iron: cheap, easy to rust, unsightly, and dirt will stick to it after rusting, making it difficult to clean;

3. PVC: cheap, susceptible to deformation due to temperature, poor scratch and impact resistance, and unsightly;

4. Zinc alloy: cheap and easily corroded;

5. Ceramics: cheap, corrosion-resistant, and not impact-resistant;

6. Cast aluminum: mid-range in price, light in weight, and relatively rough;

7. Stainless steel: affordable, beautiful and durable;

8. Copper alloy: affordable and practical.

9. Brass: heavy, high-grade, relatively expensive, and the surface can be electroplated.

The floor drains we use more often include:

1. Ordinary floor drain: mainly used for drainage in bathrooms, balconies, and kitchens

2. Fully enclosed floor drain dedicated to washing machines: used for drainage of washing machines

3. Dual-purpose floor drain: simultaneously used for floor drainage of washing machines

4. Ultra-thin floor drain: used in areas where the thickness of the floor drain is relatively thin.

5. Hidden floor drain: mainly for aesthetic purposes

6. Extended floor drain: mainly plays a beautiful role, and can slightly speed up drainage.
